Kala Bakra
Kala Bakra village comes under the Bhogpur development block of Jalandhar. Jalandhar is a district in the Indian state of Punjab. == About == Bakra lies on the Jalandhar-Pathankot road. The village has its own railway station. Its area is 454 hectares with a population of 2456 individuals (according to the 1991 census). The village has its own primary and secondary school, govt hospital. The village holds two main jatt clans Dhaliwal and Rai, the latter also known as sarobadhi as they descended from sarobadh. Dhaliwals areprominently well established in the village as they are known as Lambardars and Sarpanchs. Kala Bukra is mainly known for being the home of Gurbachan Singh Rai, a Subedar Major in the Indian army. Kala bakra is also home to a famous Punjabi singer Rai Jujhar. Its current sarpanch is Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal.
